On Saturday, December 7th, Laulima Day will feature a time for local people to help support struggling keiki, kupuna, and `ohana across Hawai`i. The entertainment will include award-winning hālau, ukulele groups, hip-hop dancers, fitness teams, a youth orchestra, and a taiko drum team. At each site, we will have KHON2 news talent, who will be there to share the stories of those who need our help, encouraging the crowds to give from their hearts and share with those who need a hand-up.
Many of the groups that will be featured are previous partners with the Laulima Giving Program. They share a deep passion for the keiki and future generations, and this event is a platform for them to inspire and empower families. By sharing their passion in fine arts, they encourage families to enroll their students into their programs, helping to ignite and promote confidence, self-awareness, and a love for our Hawaiian culture in the next generation.
We welcome families to come and join us at any of our 7 locations from 10 am to 4 pm and offer them an opportunity to teach their keiki and values of kindness and compassion by donating a toy, clothing, household items, cash, or gift cards at the following locations:
for your service, time and support.
As a non-profit, Laulima depends solely upon the kind and generous donations from the local business communities. It receives no other type of funding.
