We are excited to announce that this year’s Laulima Telethon will be hosted at the spectacular Kahala Hotel & Resort. General Manager Joe Ibarra and his team have been consistent supporters, and this year, they’re taking it to the next level.
The Laulima Giving Program Telethon is the program’s final fundraising campaign event for the year.
Keiki O Ka ‘Aina and local business volunteers collect credit cards and/or check donations via phone. During the holiday season, you can help a family in need by picking up your phone. No donation is too small.
Hosted by our broadcast media partner, KHON2, the telethon will be seen statewide on KHON2 in the morning – from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. – and then again in the afternoon – from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Both Kelly Simek and Lance “the Laulima elf” bring so much energy to the airwaves. They interview generous donors of hotel stay-cations, retail, and restaurant gift cards, share heartfelt Laulima stories, introduce fabulous entertainers, and remind engaged viewers how to make their credit card donations. They even sing!
The donations collected will help local keiki, kupuna, and `ohana, who are struggling statewide.
The Kahala Hotel & Resort is deeply committed to preserving Oahu’s land, ocean, and culture. Together with the community, guests, and local non-profit organizations, they believe it is all of our kuleana to work together toward preserving our island home for generations to come.
They heart is always to help other. Since many years, we feel blessed to work with The Kahala Hotel & Resort. Our mission is to make our islands to a better place.
Each year, The Kahala Hotel & Resort displays a ‘Laulima Giving Tree’ in the lobby. Any employee or guest is welcome to pick up an angel ornament. They can donate as many unwrapped toys and gift cards for the keiki on their designated angel ornament. Last season, we were able to gift 75 keiki with a presents.

“The Laulima Giving Program is important to Hawai`i, making it important to us, as well. Whether it’s taking care of local people or people from around the world, our core mission is to serve. Like the Laulima Giving Program, we love to improve people’s lives.”
Kelly Simek has hosted our Laulima Telethon on Khon2 since 2022. She immediately stole our hearts and the hearts of our audience. She quickly became an important part of our team.
With her vibrant and joyful vibe she guides our audience through the show perfectly represents our mission “No task is too big, when done together by all.” We are only as good as our community is and depend on the generosity and kindness of each of you.
As a non-profit, Laulima depends solely upon the kind and generous donations from the local business communities. It receives no other type of funding.
